Mike and I purchased our wedding rings today! Mike brought home a replica of his while they are ordering it in the correct size... mine is being made especially for me... and I have to wait until I come home from spring break to go in and look at a wax version of it... once that's approved they'll send it off to the lab to make it in white gold for me.
That's all of the details I'm going to give. To learn what they look like, you'll just have to wait until we exchange them on Aug. 2nd! ;)
We've also been trying hard to book our honeymoon. We saw a travel agent today, and she was super un-helpful. It seemed like she was trying to get us to leave, and didn't really want to help us. It was kind of weird - i've used that travel agent before and have always gotten great service, and good prices. This lady quoted us a higher price on airfare than what Mike had found earlier in the day on Expedia, and then told us that she "couldn't" book a hotel for us. (what travel agent says that, anyway?).. so we're booking it ourselves. screw the travel agent, right? ...or rather, Mike is booking it himself. It's the second trip i've made to Seattle to see the travel agent without actually coming home with any honeymoon plans. I'm frustrated. So now it's Mike's job. We know what we want, and what dates we want it... we just need to get the reservations in order! (we finally decided on Jamaica, by the way!)
The dress is also coming along nicely. I'm going to my sister's house almost every weekend to work on it. or rather watch her work on it. tradition states that i'm not allowed to make (or help make) my own dress. I had one of my bridesmaids over to Jenni's house a couple of weeks ago, and she wouldn't even allow me to hold the fabric while Jenni cut it. She insisted that she do it instead. (that's what good bridesmaids are for, right? always looking out for me! ~ I love you, Hillary) :)
