Mike & I are getting married in 89 days! The days are disappearing so fast!
Fortunately we have a lot of the planning done already! We met with a florist over the weekend, and are waiting for an estimate (which will arrive shortly after Mother's Day). This weekend we're going to meet with our baker to order our wedding cake. That will be the last of the big (read: pricey) decisions. The rest of the planning we have to do is smaller miscellaneous stuff.
For example, Mike is making the pillow for the ring bearer. He wanted to make my wedding dress (yeah right like that was going to happen)... so I thought I'd give him a smaller, more manageable project to work on. My sister is also letting him make her dress... with her supervision of course. (She's overjoyed that she doesn't have to make it herself after spending all of her efforts on making my dress).
We did a bunch of shopping over the weekend and picked up a ton of misc. items for the wedding. We got a rather random assortment of items... ranging from bridesmaid gifts to color crayons for the kids during the reception to charms for my bridesmaids' cake (for the bridesmaid luncheon).
We even created our own "Michaels Treasure Hunt" on the way home from the florist. The florist is located in Burlington, so somewhere during the long drive we decided it would be a good idea to hit up as many Michaels art supply stores as possible... we need a ton of these cute little bud vases that they sell... but we can't special order them, and they only get about 12-24 in stock once every 2 weeks... usually we find about 5 at any given store... we hit the jackpot at one store with 14, though. We're still in the market for dozens of them. We're pretty sure all of the stores are re-stocking that particular vase this Wednesday... so on our way home from the cake tasting this weekend we'll have another Michaels adventure. (Wedding planning can turn you into such a nerd).
We also picked up my wedding ring over the weekend! It's gorgeous, and I can't wait to wear it! I told Mike to hurry up and marry me so I can wear it. It's hard to have such a pretty ring and not wear it. (Now I understand why I keep catching Mike trying to put his ring on).
